KUKA.Sim Pro

KUKA.Sim Pro is a unique program for creating 3D layouts for systems with KUKA robots. Any number of layouts and concepts can be simulated and investigated with ease. Ideal for engineering and for system integrators.


  • Make use of the smart components of KUKA.Sim that are supplied in the extensive component library or download the models via the Internet by means of the KUKA.Sim web catalog.
  • The library offers numerous smart components that are not just geometric but also partly parametric in design and are provided with a function that you can actively deploy in your simulation (e.g. conveyor belts, light barriers, etc.). For example, you can load a safety fence and adapt its height and width according to your needs. This modular principle makes it unnecessary to create new components from scratch, thereby saving you valuable time.
  • The smart components have snap points, enabling them to be easily linked with other components. You can also link the smart components with digital I/O signals from KUKA.OfficeLite in order to control grippers, for example, or to evaluate sensor signals from the smart components. KUKA Sim Pro can likewise be used to simulate push-pull conveyor systems and conveyor systems with constant velocity. Furthermore, KUKA.Sim Pro features Python 2.6, an open scripting language that allows you to flexibly expand your components with additional functions.
  • KUKA.Sim Pro also provides you with the capability of creating and saving your own smart component library for your products so that you can incorporate them repeatedly in your system concepts for customer presentations.
  • STL (binary/ASCII), 3DS, VRML1, Robface and Google Sketchup are available as standard CAD data imports.
  • KUKA.Sim Pro features extensive API and COM functionalities that enable you to program and use your own plug-ins for KUKA.Sim Pro.


Can all the points in your robot program be reached by the robot without the risk of a collision?

  • Use the extensive KUKA.Sim functions to create a system layout.
  • Make use of the software to check your simulations for possible collisions.
  • Use the functions of KUKA.Sim Pro and KUKA.OfficeLite to create your KRL robot program.
  • In combination with KUKA.OfficeLite, you can produce highly accurate cycle time analyses in real time for the purpose of verifying your system concept.


When you have finished your layouts, you can create a 3D PDF file using the KUKA.Sim software. The 3D PDF files can be opened and viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader. The created sequence of your work cell is shown as a 3D animation in the PDF. It is thus an ideal supplement for demonstrating your simulation results to customers.
