Before you start!

Please go to the 'Store' directory of your Microsoft Robotics Studio Installation and delete the file called 'contractDirectoryCache.xml'.

  • Our assemblies are in the 'bin' folder of the MSRS root directory. We also created an 'kukatutorials' directory in the 'samples' folder and copied our source code there.
  • For a fast start, just execute the batch files that can be found in the 'batchfiles' directory within our 'kukatutorials' folder. If you experience problems running the batchfiles after you started building your own assemblies, please refer to the build tutorial to see what you might need to rebuild.

During Installation

This version of the KUKA Educational Framework works with the Microsoft Robotics Studio 1.5.

Known issues!

  1. The precision of the programmed actions depends A LOT on the performance of your computer. Please keep this in mind when starting the TASK TUTORIAL. You might need to 'fine-tune' driving times or gripper positions to complete the task. As a start, search for the variable 'MACHINE_SPECIFIC_OFFSET'.
  2. Don't be alarmed when you see red lines concerning "unable to load statefile" in the command window during the first time you use the batch files. The services can't find their state files, because these are build during the first time they are executet. The service will work fine nevertheless.
  3. We noticed that on computers with performance problems regarding the simulation, sometimes the box stack height is not measured correctly, or that the platform doesn't stop rotating when turning to the garbage can. We are currently working on a more robust solution that will work also with poor simulation performance, please check back around the end of August for an updated version!
