A KUKA KR5 robot will be used to pick and place Gillette razor blades into a SmartScope CNC 250 multi sensor system to highlight how automatic loading can further enhance the machine’s rapid capabilities for measuring injection moulded components.
Visitors to the OGP stand at C126 in Hall 4 will be able to learn more about the user-friendly, bench top 3D video measurement machine which is suitable not only for inspecting mouldings, but also for gauging tooling tolerances. The demonstration system will feature a pair of monitors which will display the inspection sequence and Real-Time Statistical Process Control data.
“Never seen before, this robot-fed machine will showcase the remarkable time-saving ability to load components from an injection moulding machine into an OGP measuring system that provides fast, consistently accurate, statistical analysis for production personnel without any human intervention,” stated Andrew Fulton, OGP UK’s managing director.
“It means information can be obtained very quickly so that product quality can be maintained more effectively while any problems can be easily identified and rectified, minimising production downtime,” he added.
The machine also features OGP’s patented AccuCentric 12:1 zoom lens, which is able to maintain accuracy as the magnification alters due to a rapid automatic, self-calibrating facility, and series of SmartRing LED white lights that deliver the ability to pinpoint light from an infinite number of directions to detect exactly the correct feature.
In addition, OGP’s stand will include a second demonstration system, the SmartScope Flash 200 video and multi sensor bench top machine with TTL laser, which will be measuring a wide variety of injection moulded components.
