The prize, consisting of a “Quality Award Letter”, the Q1 flag and a plaque, was presented at KUKA headquarters by Paul Koenen, Purchasing Manager of Ford-Werke AG. “In gaining Q1 status, we not only lay the foundation for continued successful cooperation with Ford, this award also guarantees the high quality of our products for all of our customers”, explains Bernd Liepert, Spokesman of the Board of Management at KUKA Roboter GmbH.
The award is a prerequisite for all suppliers who wish to continue cooperation with Ford. KUKA had applied for Q1 status back in 1999, and was able to fulfill all of the criteria in the requirements list to Ford’s satisfaction.
