Augsburg, November 2007 – In production shop 8 at KUKA Roboter GmbH in Augsburg, things are really hotting up: with the slogan “Welcome to the Hall of Flame” the Augsburg-based company is presenting its new KR 5 arc robot to an audience of journalists and other guests. An impressive show on the theme of welding, accompanied by a fiery barbecue, turned the market launch of the new all-rounder into an eye-catching event. To make the sparks really fly, the KR 5 arc could also be seen in full action, demonstrating its prowess in practical solutions. The newcomer was shown in a total of three cells, implemented together with renowned KUKA partners. And as if that were not enough, KUKA Roboter surprised its customers with a further innovation: the arc welding specialist KR 5 arc HW (Hollow Wrist).
