1989 the road to success with new robots

A new generation of industrial robots presented for the first time at the 1989 Hannover Fair attracts interest in Germany and abroad. Equipped with new brushless drive motors, they are characterized by very low maintenance requirements and high technical availability. Payloads from 8 to 240 kg can be manipulated, depending on the robot size.

Contemporary backdrop

1989: The supertanker Exxon Valdez runs aground in Alaska, polluting 1,100 km of coastline with 44,000 tonnes of spilt oil.

1990: The wall comes down. Germany is reunified.
