With the development of a new process in polyurethane foam technology for the production of thin-walled side member covers, Dynamit Nobel Kunststoff GmbH caused quite a stir. The result was better flow characteristics and shorter cycle times through an improved cooling process and, not least, an extremely light but also rigid part.

Pre-treatment of sand casting dies
The Weilbach, Germany plant belonging to Linde Material Handling uses the sand casting process to manufacture 51 so-called structural counterweights for forklift trucks. Linde was looking for a more cost-effective alternative to the existing solution, in which the required protective layer between the sand and the molten iron was applied manually in the form of an alcohol-based wash.

Spraying of parting agent
Sommer Allibert Industrie’s plant at Mouzon, France produces carpets for automobiles. As part of this process, parting agent is sprayed into molds. These molds are used to produce insulating foam, which serves as a sound-attenuating layer between the carpet and the floor panel. The use of parting agent means that the foam can be removed easily and without damage.
